So it was a bit rainy (lots) and windy this morning and we decided to head to the seaplane port early, stow our bags and have lunch. We took a taxi (cheap) and arrived at the teeny tiny building and they told us with a grim smile the flights were cancelled due to weather. This is a huge cruise ship and the seaplane should have been right there in front - NOT!
So the young women were very helpful and directed us to the bus station across the parking lot where another wonderful lady got us the last 2 seats (front row yet) on the bus to Dubrovnik which left in 30 minutes - perfect!Got a refund on the air tickets and spend 250 Kuna on the bus (about $39) for both so saved over $100 - cheapskate is smiling!
Passport call - entered Bosnia Herzogovina border:
In our little bus tray sat this crucifix on beads and I smiled because I really knew we were once again being watched over and in spite of the bus, cliffs, steep roads we would be safe and sound and the driver was cute! We left this right where we found it for the next passengers and I'm not even Catholic but I am a believer!!!
Our bed on stilts in Dubrovnik apartment. Ines says it had to be this way because it was placed over the staircase from the hundreds year old entry and we are on first floor (one floor up in European standards). Really pretty neat.
The kitchen/living room/den/family room:
All we need right here in this spotlessly clean apartment:
View from the front window:
And our grocery stop to get coffee, cereal, chocolate, milk, wine and of course butter to last the stay.
The front door to the building:
Wonderful dinner tonight and this is the dessert tray and our waiter's name was "Sasha" but told us his real name was Alexander. How apropo since this is our only grandson's name. Excellent food once again.
And we stopped and got tickets for this 9pm concert tonight with violin, cello, piano and something else - why not when it's 2 minutes from our door.
This little charmer was dancing on the street and so cute and her parents loved her!!!
The street we are on in Dubrovnik:
And the entry way:
And off we go to another adventure:
