Yesterday we had a "train experience". We had tickets from Dijon to Lyon on a 10:34 am train, got on the train and nothing was happening by 11:10 and trains are usually right on time. Any announcements are in French so we a couple people "suggested" we get on another train.....hmmmm! So Nicolas a 25 year old French guy majoring in English to teach it took us in hand and helped with our bags and found us the right train, sat beside us and made the 1 1/2 hour ride go very fast - left at 11:25AM!!! What a sweet young guy!
Lyon train station: This is a healthy way to recharge your phone - just get on and pedal as fast as you can.Our 1 bedroom apartment and again a nice compact kitchen:)
Looking from the other direction the 1 bedroom is behind this glass wall - again, everything we need.
Front door at 104 rue Saint Georges in Vieux Lyon - oldest part of town.
Is this really defense of the urinal?????
Cathedral Saint Jean where we attended an organ concert at 5pm yesterday. Beautiful and well kept cathedral:
On the way to dinner I noticed this statue and I am not sure what it means.
Nighttime view walking home from dinner which, by the way, was excellent. I had Bresse chicken which is reputed to be the finest chicken in the world.
Saone River - Lyon has both the Rhone and the Saone River that meet at a "confluence" - like the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers at home.
Off now for a day of touring.
