Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. —MELODY BEATTIE

Little Turkeys and Turkish Dinner!
A week or so ago we had some charming little and bigger house guests. Niece Molly and little Lily, Claire and their Gram Janelle spent a couple nights with us. Claire is getting so grown up and smiles a lot. Lily is definitely a busy two year old. We are so fortunate to have the extended family that we have - I can't say it enough.
Last night we had some good friends over for a Turkish dinner - based on the foods we had in Turkey and all cooked by me! I do love to cook new things and test them on my friends and we all get to critique. As usual for our ethnic dinner, Ross did a menu which had both the Turkish and English translation. (Ithink it works to click photo to enlarge).
Jeff (I call him Jeffie) and Donna - a former officemate for nearly 20 years, Mike and Janelle (also worked with her), Barb and Roger joined us - it's always so good to catch up and see how the conversations have changed over the years. They talk now about how slow their parents walk when they are together - one more reason for me to keep up my rapid pace in the park!
Roger studying the menu - Barb laughing! It was a great night with lots of food - some really good, some just OK. Decided it is best to stick with good wines that I know and not try for the Greek or Turkish wines that I read "you must develop a taste for". Best thing is we got to have leftovers for dinner tonight.
