We think we had our first picture like this from 2001 - I need to check on that! If I had to pick a lovely place to live and retire it just might be here. This was arrival day which also happened to be March 31 - Amy's 36th birthday!
Same house as 2010 - rooftop deck - first night. My first cousin Denny from MN, nephew Andrew and brother Brian - laughing it up. They had fun with the dumbwaiter that goes from kitchen to 3rd floor rooftop deck. We sent wine, beer and $ up and down!
Brian brought a wonderful chocolate birthday cake for Amy's birthday - we had 13 people for cake and dinner which was Taco Surf pickup - my favorite.
Andrew on his German beach cruiser with his admirers! So nice to be able to walk right down to Main Street and for him to ride his bike over from where he lives.
Yesterday we went to Mother's Beach in Long Beach - it is a bay type thing with NO waves so the kids could go right in - of course the water is in the 50s so they would get in and scream! Chris and Alex:
Alex almost 7, Rooke will be 5 on my mom's birthday August 27, Lucy just turned 4 - they have been asked several times already if they were sisters.
We have had great laughs over this one. We have called the guy on the left the homeless derelict who followed us. ...Ross just relaxing, me and brother Brian.
After dinner last night and after a day of high waves and surf and riptide warnings we walked the few feet from our house to check it out. Wow - the waves had flooded the beach and the boardwalk. Before dawn this morning we heard the earth movers and the berms are back! Alex is excited.
So for today - Jenny and Shannon went to their home last night, Chris and Amy leaving for Laguna Beach for a little respite for a couple days and Ross and I will have the three 6 and unders! Brian and Andrew will probably stop in to help. I still say family vacations provide the most lasting memories but I also like the camel ride in Petra, Jordan!
