This Yankee married a Confederate!!!!!

Well, things have much improved since Day One. I will be doing another post with more pictures but yesterday we went on a city tour and in the Palmer House (picture below) I noticed this book on a side table..hmmm - kept my mouth shut and didn't say "Uffda" or even "minnasoda".
I am clearly in enemy territory if y'all know what ah mean....also in the land of retirees on holiday.
The Palmer House tea just for us: Pink lemonade (the house is also pink - see picture below) - warm chocolate chip cookies, southern "sweet tea" and pound cake - mmmm good.

Palmer House - toured this and as all these southern homes it was just beautiful and was owned by a dentist - currently has a few bed and breakfast rooms on the 3rd floor but there are family pictures, books and memoirs all over the house...and it looks over Charleston Harbor.

I loved this window of a barbecue restaurant - very catchy and a good reminder. On the bus tour we saw the beautiful College of Charleston (need to google it to find out more) where on graduation day which is always Mother's Day (like often at UND) the girls wear white long formal gowns and white roses and the men wear white tuxedos and white rose boutonierres ?sp - I can imagine how beautiful that must be - the population is 65-70% female.

Next post more pictures:)
