Books and Whatnot!

Home Alone! After weeks of welcome guests and little kids it seems very quiet in our house. Niece Molly and 16 month old Lily have left and the house is tidy and free from sticky mashed banana on the kitchen floor!.....wouldn't trade it for anything. Ross and I walked to Hyland Park annual Children's book festival today where we met Chris and Amy. Beautiful, sunny and cool day. This afternoon talked to 3 year old granddaughter Rooke in California who tells me she got a new book "A new Clifford book" and when I replied "You did?" she says "Look" and Jenny says she hold it up to the phone - priceless. Also heard the entire song "Bingo was his Name-O". Below is the entrance gate to the free festival.

Normandale Lake in the midst of Hyland Park - walking distance from our house - one of my favorite places in the world.

Alex decorating his free Target-sponsored book bag; so studious with just 3 days of kindergarten under his belt.

My books: Finished the book from Amy "90 Minutes in Heaven" - Molly now reading it - and started "The Last Days of Old Bejing" - very interesting!

Soon we start our once a week "Lucy Days" and hope to give Lucy the same experiences we were able to give Alex for 5 years now. Next: On to packing and the next post may very well be from our first destination very soon.Posted by Picasa
