Another Mountain Climbed!

Update on daughter-in-law Amy:
Yesterday was a monumental day: Radiation day Number 14 of 28, Chemotherapy day number 21 of 42 - that means today all this is a few hours more than half over. I wish I could finish it out for her as it is getting a little tough to feel in her words "like crap" most of the time. It is hard to believe that next week it will be SIX long months since this journey began. June 28 (two days after Chris and Amy's 11th anniversary) the process to reinstate the driver's license starts with "Larry" from the Adaptive Drivers school - she doesn't need special equipment - just an evaluation for safety - she will do fine! Already has plans to charm Larry with her personality.
Seasonal Update:
We finally had a day of sun and summer yesterday and maybe most of today! My flowers need sun. Rode my bike through Hyland Park Reserve and it is indeed lush and beautiful.
Blog update: Thanks to my friend Mary, in Seattle, she identified the big blue bird that we saw in Oklahoma as the Great Blue Heron and says they have a sanctuary in Renton, Washington, near where she lives.
Reading: Just finished the book "Phantoms in the Brain" that son Chris loaned me - it is about the mysteries of the human mind and how the brain works. Just started "Those Who Save Us" - a book about a little girl age 3 who fled Nazi Germany with her mom in the 1940s after being liberated by an American soldier and then going to live with him in Minnesota.
