I still need to catch up on stories but on these 2 days we visited Midleton for the Jameson Whiskey distillery tasting tour, lunch in Dungarvan, Jerpoint Abbey; walking tour of Kilkenny and of ourse lots of food!
Jameston Whiskey Distillery, Midleton, Ireland. In this town there is also a monument called Kindred Spirits of large metal feathers dedicated to the Choctaw Indians of Oklahoma who during the famine sent money to Ireland when they had very little. In response during a later time Ireland sent quite a lot of money to help out the Choctaw tribe

Jerpoint Abbey ruins now a national historic place and built in 1180. It is said that Saint Thomas is buried here. Very interesting!

Luck of the Irish - we checked into the hotel on our last night and Ross tried the room phone as usual and it did not work so he walked quite a way to the front desk so he got room keys to move up one floor. Since they were very busy and we had just an hour to get ready for a group dinner we moved our own luggage and surprise surprise!!! - we got a very large suite with a bedroom, 2 bathrooms, living room with 3 sofas and a dining table with 6 chairs and they also delivered a bottle of Prosecco. Holy Moly - unexpected for sure.

Apparently there is a lot of controversy over this mural as it is not seen as appropriate to have such modern art on a historic building.
Love the name "scrumdiddy's" and I did notice to the right where it says rish ice cream - who stole the I????

And what else but finish our walking around Kilkenny in a pub and have a wee bit of Irish beer, Irish cider and a bit of food with our group of new friends.
Then on to the falcon training business that was a little walk from our Lyrath Estate Hotel Kilkenny.
He had been doing this for 30 years and loves it and has been married for 27 years and his wife joins him in the business.
