Tomorrow we head out by coach through Slovakia to meet our riverboat in Esztergom, Hungary. Today we did the Jewish Heritage tour in Krakow for a few hours. This is a Jewish cemetery right next to a centuries old synagogue still open that we could visit. This is the synagogue interior and we were able to enter and hear the story.
I remember on our last visit here 11 years ago we drove by Schindler's factory and this time we got a great tour with lots of information about Oskar Schindler and how he saved so many lives of Jews. Now I need to watch the movie "Schindler's List" again as it is a true story.
These were items that were confiscated from the homes of the Jews that were dragged out and sent to concentration camps all over.
This was how the walkway had to be in the Nazi regime. All the streets were named from Polish names to German and lots with the name Hitler in them as in one square changed to Adolf Hitler Platz.
Nazi soldiers shaving off the bears of Jewish men and smiling and doing a thumbs up. Sad times and not to be forgotten.
This is how they got citizens into the German SS.
Lots of family photos of local Polish before before the war.
This is the square where Jewish people were told to sit on the chairs - way more than this - and then were shot to death....Krakow, Poland
And off we go tomorrow on another adventure and onto the riverboat MS Joy!!!
