Fraud Not Fun!

We have been buried in a case of Identity Theft/Fraud and it escalated in the past 10 days!  We really don't think it had anything to do with being in China as we had "small signs" before we left.  In September we noticed random small charges on 3 different cards but got new ones.  Now we have closed all bank and credit accounts (pain in the you know what), opened new, filed fraudalert/credit freezes with the 3 big agencies and have a Report Number at the police department in Bloomington.  Everyone we deal with just shrugs (you can kind of tell a shrug even over the phone) and says "these guys are really really smart" and noone seems to know exactly how this happens.  I would not wish it on my worst enemy.
So - my mantra is "it's not cancer" and we are out only a couple dollars.  My walks and talks with my friends are great and I'm glad to have Ross by my side in all this as it takes two people to clean up the mess.  He kind of thinks his computer got hacked somehow as my stuff seems to be OK.  The absolutely worst part is no matter how many times you call you spend a long long time getting to a real person and the next time you call you have to start all over again.
So probably not the end of this story yet........
