This morning we rode on a Dragon Boat on Lake Kumming by the Summer Palace - I need to figure out what exactly a dragon boat stands for! - Maybe tomorrow.....

The Chinese have feng shui (wind, water and what they do for you), Confucious, acupuncture and a whole lot of other things. Our guide pointed out the sidewalk designs and what they mean and asked what was the most important: His answer Chinese version #1 money, #2 health, 3# happiness as signified by the two hearts with an arrow.
Rubber Ducky time in Beijing: What I learned:
The
Rubber Duck knows no frontiers, it doesn't discriminate people and doesn't have
a political connotation. The friendly, floating Rubber Duck has healing
properties: it can relieve mondial tensions as well as define them. The rubber
duck is soft, friendly and suitable for all ages!
In 2009,
while it was on display in Belgium, vandals stabbed the Rubber Duck 42 times.
After
touring 14 cities in 10 countries, a giant rubber duck designed by Dutch artist
Florentijn Hofman will be in Beijing from September to October, floating first
at Beijing Garden Expo Park and then at the Summer Palace, the Beijing Design
Week organizing committee said on Wednesday.
A
Chinese rubber duck fan club was set up on Wednesday, led by singer Lin Yilun.
It aims to protect the copyright of rubber-duck-related products sold in China.

Great Wall in the background. They just found out it was probably 13,000 miles long and none of it survived but parts have been reconstructed. Lots of tourist money in that.
