My New Guy!

Well not really a new guy - we are just back from a Bedouin dinner with entertainment (and yes I did dance with a sword in my hand) - visited the ancient discovered city of Petra, a UNESCO heritage site) today and it was 32 degrees! Snow was predicted but as usual we lucked out. This is Ross in the Bedouin scarf to keep his face warm. I will post a story and pics later - maybe after we get home.

This is a Nabatean warrior in the city of Petra - darn cute guy! When we finished the walk which was on sand, cobblestones thousands of years old, and trying to dodge mules, camels and carts - voila! We got to ride camels back to the cart stop and then get on a mule drawn cart. Except...our cart driver felt we were in a chariot race and that we did and we won! Good thing I have a pretty good back because it was rather a bumpy ride at times. And of course our two camels were let loose by the camel guide so they did their own thing and Ross dropped the "rope". Quite the fun experience.
We have met a great group of people to hang out with on this trip and it's been a lot of fun and jokes. Tomorrow we head to Amman and will have a hotel room for the day while we get ready for our 1:25am flight to Paris and then home. As much as we love travelling after a couple weeks we are ready. The people who live here have been lovely and we have felt safe every step of the way....and I am sick of watching Whitney Houston coverage.
