My greatest thing: Sapori and Saperi in Pompeii City - a food fair - this is just a picture of one of the booths - we got free samples i.e. free lunch, free wine, buffalo mozzarella, free admission - it was worth the walk downhill and back up!!!
Pompeii - quite a stark reminder of what happened to the people when Mt. Vesuvius erupted in 79AD - no warning to the residents - they were buried under lava and mud.
Our little Casa Sorrento - before you get jealous remember that is it a walk uphill from the town on a narrow street, roosters crowing in the morning, chainsaws sawing down trees outside our window to make room for the addition to the Church of Santa Lucia around the corner.
Ross and Buddy Antonino - he owns the property out little house is on - see above! He took us to the train station this morning in his tiny car and had to drop us off behind a brick wall so the taxi drivers at the train station in Sorrento wouldn't see us and get mad at him! The picture is in front of the front door. He picks up his little girls at school on his scooter.
