Habiba - that is a term of endearment! No internet on the ship and are now in Luxor - trying to put on pictures without success. What we've seen is phenomenal but you can check it out at the library. What we learned:
Satellite dishes on mud huts.
Transport is donkeys, horses and carts (rode in one), tour buses all over (rode in many)
Had a galibayeh party (traditional Egyptian dress) Ross had a gown and head deal just like Yassir Arafat had. Dee almost won the belly dancing contest in her outfit and favorite rubber flipflops.
McDonalds has home delivery.
Saw King Tut's mummy (rare as it is almost always travelling the world) in his tomb, a mummified fetus and a mummified crocodile.
Comments off the street: Bahkeesh??? (asking for money), American Number ONe, and mostly Obama, Obama.
King Ramses II had 96 sons and 102 daughters and commissioned many large monuments all over to himself - he must have been proud.
Went to Philae Temple near Aswan for a night show and the flat bottom boat to get to the island has no lights, no life vests and a fire broke out in the one behind us so they beat it out with rugs!!! I was glad to get off the boat.
Bottom line: beautiful weather, great group - a few facelifts I'm sure, ready for more adventure travel and the next turbaned guy that trys to sell me a scarf or postcard in my face will hear from me!!!
