New Times, Old Times, Good Times!

The highlight of this week was another "perfect" (per the neurooncologist) MRI for Amy who is getting close to 6 years out after a brain tumor.  We do not veer from the usual path.  She picks me up, MRI, wait and lunch torta lunch at Manny's where Chris met us, head to doc appt and holding breath just a little bit waiting for the news.
Yesterday one of the LOFT (Ladies of Fun and Travel) ladies who toured Italy with me had us over for a reunion brunch.  Only one missing is Fran and she is on yet another girl trip in the USA and will get to see Graceland (of Elvis fame)!  We had good food, good laughs, good memories and best of all talking about another trip somewhere sometime!!  I'm doing a little research on Portugal and it so happens that I took a cooking class today that had honey from Portugal - apparently well known for their honey.  I felt it was a sign:)
5 months prior in Rome at the Colosseum.  We keep marveling at how everything on that trip went like clockwork each and every day - with small usual travel glitches!
I just opened my 1963 high school annual.  We were the junior class and so fun to see my still "best friends forever" sitting next to each other for our class photo:  me, Beth and Peggy.  Good posture, legs crossed the way they told us and left hand over right hand except I seem to be trying to stray from the track a bit with my hand - still doing that now and then!!!  We were all good students, mostly obeyed our parents and didn't misbehave "too much" - enough said!
These are the friends who will be joining us in Australia.  She called to check in tonight and we are all on track and getting very excited even though we have a few weeks to go and a whole bunch of stuff going on from now to then.  This was in South America at a fun restaurant that happened to have a table with a bull base that looked like Elvis - hmmmm - not sure of the theme here.
