Graduation Time!

Another big event - yesterday was Alex's graduation: Five kindergarten classes - well over 500 in audience, many cameras! Each child was called to the front with a few words about their favorite thing and what they wanted to do when they grow up. The favorite by far was "recess" - has not changed at all from the olden days. What do they want to be: Firefighters and policemen outpaced all, one wanted to be a spy and only one wanted to be a Mom, a few pilots, a race car driver - pretty interesting. Lots of proud parents, grandparents, teachers and others in the crowd. IN 2023 I WILL BE 76 YEARS OLD!
The very last song was another animated but brings tears - some of the words were "school...where I learned the Golden Rule...hearts, and minds, and friends you know (gesturing while they sang) - all the while about one hundred kindergarteners holding hands and swaying back and forth.

After that Alex got to come to our house with his bike with training just off a little while ago. We did a trial run - ended up riding across Hyland Park to Bush Lake Beach where "Grammy, we just have to test the water once with our bare feet" - sounded good to me. Looked at the time and realized we better get home so we could meet Chris, Amy and Lucy for dinner. Told him we had to gun it - he did and he passed me and was proud we made it home in 9 minutes - he's a good rider.

So the current temperature is 40 degrees less than 2 days ago at this time - spring in Minnesota!

Looking forward to seeing our friends tonight who have just returned from about 5 weeks in Europe - fun, fun fun. This week my first Turkish American Soc cooking class where I also hope to learn about other cultures...anxious for my high school girlfriend weekend get-together in a couple weeks.....planning our family reunion at the cabin....starting to work on Paris Istanbul in the fall..working in a trip to California. I love retirement:)
