Back home and catching up!

 After our trip "up" the Rhine from October 3-15 we are now home 2.5 days and all feels normal.  We are lucky as really don't suffer from jet lag and it works better if you get home, set your mind at the time where you are and forget that you were awake for 26 hours!!!

6 October 2025 - Monday - Lavaux Vineyards Train Tour, wine tasting at Union Vinicole de Cully - a 90 year old winery; then visit to Charlie Chaplin Museum in Vevey, Switzerland.  The Lavaux region is internationally famous as a terrace wine-growing region on the shores of Lake Geneva and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that dates back to the 12th century.

Travel buddy Sue calls me her "Sistah" as neither of us have sisters!

7 October 2025 - Tuesday - Glacier 3000, Montreux Switzerland

Soaring 3,000 meters above sea level  Bus ride to Glacier involved winding roads so suggestion if motion sickness problem to stay back - we are fine!

And we were told it can be very cold and slippery and that was true!  Hang on and go slow is the suggestion.

Another option was to take a cable car - open and windy - down the mountain going in circles but we skipped that after the peak walk.

We did enjoy a traditional Swiss lunch with what else but cheese fondue with homemade bread to dip - it was super yummy.

8 October 2025 - Wednesday - Chillon Castle to Basel - check out of hotel get on the small ship MS Inspire.  133 passengers plus crew.

This is a "double" bed - pretty small and the two people sleeping in sat up and leaned back on pillows as it wasn't long enough to lay all the way down.  Go figure!

Interesting - chairs and other furniture hanging from the ceiling.  Most of the pieces date from the 17th and 18th centuries, but some date back to the Gothic or even Roman eras.
