Normandale Lake - Bloomington Minnesota and way in the background sticking up from the trees in the middle is the ski jump and every January there is a competition and usually the winners are from Scandinavia!
With all the rain we have had the little waterfalls leading into Nine Mile Creek from the lake has been powerful and flooded and there is still "plenty of water" in Minnesota talk.
Another walk - another lake not too far from us and the paddle boats are docked for the season and soon will be pulled out but how peaceful and beautiful it is.
It was quite a fun and busy week. One of my college friends set up another dinner date for the University of Minnesota CUP (Coordinated Undergraduate Program) "girls" and we try to do this 3 or so times a year. The day before this dinner one of the girls ran into our Internship Director who wanted to know what we were up to and that we were her "special" class. There were 12 of us in the 2 year program to become Registered Dietitians (RDs). I was the "oldie" with two kids in elementary school and we sure had fun.
Next up - my class of 1964 Lafayette High School gang and we each drove 1+ hours to a central meeting point of a small town. Super 4 hour lunch/talk in a cafe that was a former creamery then onto shopping in the only 3 places in town - antique store, thrift shop and awesome meat market where of course we had our photo taken.
And no I don't forget Ross - we had a season Guthrie Theatre performance of "The Glass Menagerie" the old Tennessee Williams play and it was good with a nasty mom as the star. Dinner before as usual and Ross hates to have his picture taken but this is the Mississippi River with the Stone Arch Bridge in the background.
And today - testing my new phone camera app with remote function phone app and yes we are both staring at the screen - I'm learning!!!
So - the Farmer's Almanac is predicting "Frigid and Snowy" winter here and thank goodness we have a couple trips in January/February to California and Vietnam/Cambodia to get a little warm weather. And that's it for today!!!!
