I can't believe little Rooke turns 7 today in California. It seems only yesterday I wanted a "piano picture" when she was a few days old - you can tell she loved it:)
August 2008 - one year old - much happier with the piano.
She was born on my mom's birthday who would have turned 88 today and she's been gone a little over 4 years. I always liked to look at this article of she and her sister (my mom is on the right). They were born a little less than a year apart and apparently breastfeeding 2 little girls was not going so well and my mom was not thriving so along comes Eagle Brand!!! Needlecraft Magazine 1928 after my grandma wrote a letter to the Eagle brand company. It became an advertisement for them. I wonder if that's why my aunt was about 5'8"or more and my mom was about 5' tall like me...hmmmmm.
Yesterday Alex had his "special" 24 hours with us so we all got to go to the Fair where we met my walking friend and her grandson - they get along very well. I hardly ever miss the fair and I never missed the county fair as a child as we often went several times.
2006 - 18 months old
2007 - 2 years old
2008 - 3 years old with Jenny, Rooke, Lucy joining us
2009 - 4 years old
2010 - 5 years old. Amy had just finished chemo and radiation for the nasty brain tumor so we took Alex to the Fair on the bus. It had to be a scary time for a little boy.
2011 - 6 years old
2012 - Alex and Lucy growing up fast. Lucy is 4 years old.
2013 - my brother Brian from California gets to join us.
And then 2014 where the Grandmas have as much fun as the little boys. We can scream as loud as anyone else and noone cares and it sure is fun to be young again.
Nothing like the best ever warm from the oven chocolate chip cookies.
Alex and my friend's grandson watching the big ducks get put into cages for transport. They look like a couple of farm boys staring ahead and talking to each other without turning their heads!
Ross might be thinking - how many more goats will be passing by us for this judging while Alex likes to play with my camera and do "selfies". Notice that his braces are the color of UND which can no longer be called the Fighting Sioux but are just "North Dakota".
