Retirement is not for the faint of heart!

John Mason Good: Happiness consists in activity. It is a running stream, not a stagnant pool. (1764-1827) English writer and physician who became at surgeon at age 20 after being an apprentice surgeon. (How'd you like to have him do your bypass surgery???)

Marcia Wieder: Fill your life with as many moments and experiences of joy and passion as you humanly can. Start with one experience and build on it. Certified Dream Coach, motivational speaker......hmmm - Ross would harrumph at this. She also says to "Use your precious moments to live life fully every single second of every day - it is essential to our well-being and to our lives that we play and enjoy life" - hmmm - I have never had a problem with that!

Let me tell you why these quotes caught my eye! We have converted our home to the Jones Boutique Hotel and Ristorante which includes a bed and breakfast. We've had 2 dinners (French Julie and Julia) and Italian (think The Three Tenors- name them if you can) and this Saturday will be our third. In addition, we have had a great time with my mom for 5 nights, Molly, Josh and Lily for the last week and a couple days last week. Lucy calls her Baby Billy as she could not say Lily. Molly's mom, Kathy, will arrive Friday for a night. Ross' brother Preston hopefully will be arriving next week to join us for Thanksgiving - we have ever so much to be thankful for.

Our friends Roger and Barb at our French dinner - the rule was we had to wear blue shirts like Julia Child on her PBS program. Had great fun. Bon Appetit!

You may be asking what is next? Answer: "Heck if I know" - taking the slow lane and just seeing what shows up next. Tomorrow we are having Thanksgiving lunch twice (with Lucy and then Alex in their separate schoolrooms) - we are not making the same mistake we did last year when after lunch Alex ran to get his backpack and jacket and we had to tell him he wasn't coming home with us - tears - his and ours as we had no car seat so no choice - tomorrow they get to come home with us for the afternoon. Happy Holidays to All of you out there and around the world from Minnesota Land der zehntausend Seen (Land of Ten Thousand Lakes) - Sara is challenging me to learn German.
