Ciao! All is well. This is the restaurant for our first night right across the street from apt - very good! St. Peter's Basilica where we saw Pope Benedict Ross estimated crowded as 100,000 - amazing and very quiet....people from all over the world.
Saw the Pope best on the TV monitors as even though we had actual chairs it is still far from the podium. Did do the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel guided tour and it was very good.
Painting in Vatican Museums. This just brought to mind Amy, Lucy, me and Amy's mom Kathy!!! Looks like 2 grandmas - I'm the older one.
Wierd things: Floor plan of the apartment - difficult to explain! Coffeemaker is only a small stovetop espresso but we again solved the problem with a couple options.
Good things: Got picked up as planned at Rome airport - after the flood in the first place we arrived at this place which is just a short walking distance from the Spanish Steps and they had upgraded us to a 2 bedroom 2 bath no extra charge.
Tomorrow we are taking a hop/on hop/off open top bus for the day. We have conquered the Metro system.
Bono Notte - that might mean good night but I think the spelling may be wrong.
DJ
Best things: The food (what else) - also reasonable, the wine and the people have been lovely and so friendly.

  1. Amy, Chris, Alex, Lucy, Ed and Kathy all read your blog while eating breakfast in Duluth. It sounds like a wonderful trip and so glad all is going well. Bring home some nice weather and Amy said she wants a Peugot salt and pepper shaker or she is going to take mine! Wishing you safe travels and enjoy the rest of your trip! Kathy
