Isle of Skye and Eileen Donan castle - Sunday 16 June 2024

So it's Sunday 16 June and today we got first day of "normal Scottish weather" - mid 50s temps and drizzle/rain off and on but we are always well prepared.  We are docked in Portree on the Scotland mainland and took a tender to Isle of Skye.  Lots of history and stories, wars, murders, heads cut off and royalty.  It was a great history visit but photos were not allowed inside the castle and I'm sure to help keep the tourists moving in the tiny skinny hallways and stairs.  We took turns up and down with a few at a time to be polite.

This is our buddy Greg and he is not a criminal and did not get kicked off the bus and as always we get our favorite seats at the back of da bus:)

This was our local tour guide Rory  dressed of course in his clan kilt which I think was McLean.  He has been doing this for 10 years since retiring from his "real job" and he loves this job telling stories and meeting lots of people.
View of the Eileen Donan castle - and I do indeed have lots of details and stories but it's happy hour time!
