California and Paris - travel crazy we are not!!! Mission Beach stories here!

 First - daughter-in-law Amy who had the brain tumor surgery Sept 29 (first tumor was almost 13 years ago much better than expected outcome) and today had the sutures out and 15 CL liquid drained from swelling after surgery needed no pain med.  She has a 3 week break now with no appointments then starts 6 weeks of radiation Nov 8-Dec 20.

Now update on trips:

We had the family trip to Mission Beach CA Oct 15-22 so Ross and I flew out first with Alex and Lucy and Chris flew out Oct 19 for 3 nights and Amy was not ready to travel.  It would have been difficult for her to navigate the 3 flights of stairs but the lodging was very awesome with ocean views and sounds of waves.  So a "few photos" from beginning to end of trip:

 

We got to meet great-nephew Wyatt born in February to our nephew Andrew and wife Kaori - what a sweetheart and of course he got all the attention from everyone.

Had to go to the Padres store so the kids could get hats and the Padres won the game the next day!

Chris cooked the excellent salmon, swordfish and vegies on the grill after a stop at a real fish market in a warehouse area.

This is the daily boardwalk to dinner and there were many restaurants within walking distance thank goodness.  As the one night it was a little too long to walk and first parking lot charged $30 - yes thirty dollars, Jenny found next one at $20 and Ross and Chris found one for $10 - Crazy Touristy California beaches!

First stop on leaving was the airport lounge for a bit of breakfast.

Pretty nice kitchen too but we only cooked one dinner at home and Chris did that.  But we did have breakfast at home every day and pretty often lunch and dinner out.

Brother Brian and family visited us and we all agree he looks exactly like my dad at about the same age of 62.

Of course the daily ice cream walk with Grammy and the grandkids and Alex at 17 took the picture as he might rather do that than be in the picture!  However, he never missed a daily walk with us.

Nothing better than to see the sign Jones' Property on the butt side of a pair of shorts!

We had the top floor with 4 "decks" on 3 sides so pretty darn good.

We thought this was an ad but it actually says "Val will you marry me?" - awesome!

Seriously - this is the master bedroom hallway to our bathroom - not really necessary to be that huge right?

Gotta love the palm tree on the walking path "home" which has lights wrapped around it - I want a palm tree in our yard but it would have to be fake!
