Four weeks and counting - need my bathtub and toilet!!!

Our bathroom remodel is almost like building a cabin!  Four weeks down and 4-6 weeks to go - fingers crossed!!!  Who would think a little bathroom vent fan and a couple wall lights would be this big!

 In case I forget - this is right before we started the big dig!  Or do I call it big dumpster?

 And we are still sleeping under these conditions however since we remove all the plastic every night  we have not yet suffocated or swallowed a lot of plastic.

 Made some headway - but we have a few water leaks which are hard to find as apparently water "travels in funny ways down joists and stuff".  A bit of a setback and puzzling.

 Toilets, "unique size" cast iron soaking tub - hmmmm - sounds very complicated for a 300# bathtub.

 And there it is - right where it should be:

 Wall cabinet gone, walls primed, making headway and I'm not a patient person and hate even minor remodeling projects.

 New bathroom windows from the outside and bedroom windows ready to be installed tomorrow.  The had a little wood rot from condensation and apparently it costs about $1,000 per window - maybe - I counted 32 windows in our house so we are starting with a couple at a time!!!  Might finish in 10 years.

 The guest bedroom that is used so often my friends cannot believe it but had to clean out the closet to see if the guest bath shower valve was leaking and they need to cut a hole in the closet wall.  Today I moved the "stuff" in a neat row and the bedroom is ready for my brother to use and my nephew in the basement arriving from California in 5 days.

 And last Friday the tile started and my friends says it looks like a crime scene with the tape across the door which just says "Don't walk on until Saturday"!

 It is unbelievable that halfway through a bathroom project the huge dumpster in our driveway is this full.

 So for a little relaxation I walk the park and this beautiful little fawn (still has white speckles) tried to stare me down and I kept walking, turned around and it was following me.  How sweet is that?

 And to relieve remodeling stress we plan trips and next year on 9/11 we are going to Africa!  Heck ya, why not???

Our daughter Jenny and family own a house in Lake Elsinore.  This has been on the news all week with the Holy Fire which has destroyed 36,000 acres now but as of today they are out of the evacuation zone.  A little more stress in our life but prayers answered and being the 911 dispatcher she is she does remain calm.  Praise the Lord for all the emergency workers and fire fighters are doing all the time.  The fire went from 5% contained a few days ago to close to 40% contained by this afternoon.  Woohoo!
